It is used to communicate with all employees when the plant is shut down due to weather, communicate about covid updates and protocol, as well as safety requirements and regulations. My uncle also has access to who is active and who accesses certain articles and information so he knows what people care about and take interest in but also who is active and who is not. This app essentially keeps all employees updated and involved with everything going on so everyone is on the same page and understand what is going on. Things get busy and not everyone has access to a computer so all people have to do is check their phone for continuous information and updates which makes things more efficient but also stresses the value of teammwork and everyone playing an important role to achieve maximum success. |

And he started his own company Digital Ticket a few years back and they installed a CRM system named KEAP which they use to communicate with clients. The later and more advanced the watches get the more data he is able to collect from simple easy runs, to longer higher endurance runs. The second most important piece of technology that he uses is a lactate testing system. This tests the amout of lactate our body is producing at the high exertion levels. Because I do interact with him regularly I would have selected other forms of technology. |

As a non-profit ministry, they have hundreds and hundreds of donors on a one-time or occurring basis. With the evolvement of technology, they have had to adapt with the advancement of online capabilities, formatting, and even laws/regulations. Along with that, there has been the challenges of working with new programs and file formats. On top of those changes occurring over the years, you also have to factor in the variety of generations of people working within the ministry, and the familiarity of ones knowledge with technology. When dealing with online giving, that alone has been a huge change for Timber Bay, and with the years passing by, they are continuing to offer new ways for donors to be able to give. As stated by my Mom, she was saying that many 10+ years ago, sending a check was the typical way to donate, but with the continual change of the internet and options, online giving has become the primary option. On top of that, it’s made giving much easier and hands free, but in order to have that happen, a lot of background work has to be put in in order to have successful transfer of payments and documentation. An exciting fact is that they are even exploring options of bitcoin and what that would look like in regards to giving and setting a process for that. In regards to the different programs and file formats, my Mom and the others on the Administrative side of Timber Bay have had to find ways to take the steps needed to figure out what websites they wanted to use, as well as the programming behind it to get the correct functions in place so the details needed for credit cards and bank accounts are correctly taken as well and method payment plans. Due to the fact that there is continual change, my mom has found that the donation system has proven to be the most difficult. As a result, there has been times where I’ve had to be her test subject to see if the donation process works, whether it be viewing he website from my end or even donating money in some cases to assure everything is set in place. Adding onto the trial and error of the giving system, there’s the fact that they function as a 501(c)3 with all people on staff raising funds to support themselves and their areas of ministry. Just that fact alone can cause a lot of chaos for Timber Bay, as it means they are tax exempt from income tax in the US, and in some cases, people can give as write-offs and can file their giving on taxes. Claiming the right things and the right amounts, along with providing documentation of statements for people can be tedious itself, so gathering the needed online information is essential for both sides. Lastly, my Mom was mentioning the fact that there are various generations within he ministry, some even since it was established in 1970, and that means some staff were from the dinosaur age compared to some people younger than my mom who know the ins and outs of technology/process of it. Issues could be sharing Google Doc’s, to placing it in the right folders, or even how to attach things in an email time to time depending on its file format. Something that seems to be common sense in this day and age for some staff is far beyond their years, and that’s when common technology questions like I mentioned or even how you do certain commands on smart phones end up going to my Mom. With the evolution of technology in all areas for their ministry, she has a hand in it somehow and that requires her to learn on the spot in some instances and being ahead of the game in order to keep up with the workload. Whether it be from the giving perspective, to the legality side, or even the internal side of technology, my Mom has needed to adapt and learn like we have in MIS class, trial and error in some cases to get the desired results. |

My mentor uses a program that allows him to put in demographics about where athletes are from and where prospective athletes are from to see how likely they are to get people from a certain part of the country. This helps him decide who they should spend more time on based off of past recruiting successes or failures. |

We have an system called Smart Station. Versions of this program are used by most Financial Advisors. I can quickly pull up a client account and see their personal information along with their investments and plan progress. |

For example, from the 3 digital map systems to the pacemakers and even computer systems- without these his job would not exist. A huge technology change in the Heart Rhythm Services department specifically, but really as a hospital as a whole, is the adaptation from using paper to computer based everything- even with things such as prescriptions. Pacemaker devices and defibrillators have decreased enormously in size. Technology is constantly changing at Mayo Clinic so keeping up with how to use new machines and devices is extremely difficult and frustrating at times. |

My mentor is constantly typing up documents using Microsoft word, she also uses it to type up the cover letters for everything that they send in the mail. The next technology that has had a great impact is Microsoft outlook. She has dual monitors at work so she constantly has it up on one monitor so she can keep in constant contact with everyone and is staying up to date with important company news and updates. |
